There are two major urban parks located in Moncton, and Centennial Park located in the center of the city, on the city's west end is a wonderful place to get a feel for the people of Moncton. Just sit on a bench under a shade tree and watch the families, the teenagers, and the business people.
You’ll see a vibrant population of people who enjoy being outdoors. This park is set on 299 acres, and has excellent facilities. Hiking, lawn bowling, horseshoe pitching and tennis are popular activities, while the large playground, complete with wading pool, is a favorite with children.
Camp Centennial offers educational and entertaining day camps for youngsters. Families can also swim and sunbathe at Centennial Beach, complete with fine sand, change houses, canteen and lifeguards. The park has extensive woods, trails for hiking and biking, and in winter cross-country skiing and sleigh rides.
